After carrying out some detached work in Cramlington at the beginning of the summer sessions have gone from strength to strength. We now have an established mini beat sessions on a Friday evening that attracts a core group of young people. Young people that attend enjoy the relaxed ‘drop in’ atmosphere that the session creates, which allows them to have a hot drink (and maybe the odd biscuit) whilst having the opportunity the chat to staff, they refer to the mini beat as the ‘Banter bus.’ Sessions have included Pizza nights, Halloween themed sessions and a trip to Whitley Bay ice rink and Infinite Air indoor trampolining. Young people have more opportunities to plan off site activities with the support of the funding from Children In Need. As well as these activities sessions also focus on current issues such as drugs & alcohol, sexual health and current affairs.
Cramlington sessions are held every Friday night at the Brockwell Centre between 7pm-9pm
